Construction appetite rises

Newly issued construction permits up by nine percent in June 2011

August 3, 2011- Newly issued construction permits over the first half of 2011 reached 8.81 million, up by 4.6 percent relative to the same period of last year.

Mount Lebanon captured the majority of newly issued construction permits in the first half of 2011 with 51 percent of the total permits. The South came in second with 16.5 percent, followed by the North with 16.3 percent, Beirut with 8.8 percent, and the Bekaa with 7.3 percent.
