The GES is a composite measure prepared by global investment bank, Goldman Sacks. It summarizes growth conditions and overall growth environment for 179 global countries.

It ranks countries according to their ability to achieve their growth potential.

The country scored only 4.3 points on the index. The score is lower than the global average score of 5.4 points.

Among 20 countries from the MENA region, it came in a poor position; the 15th place.

The GES studies growth projections according to different categories including the external debt as a ratio of GDP, technological abilities, the rule of law,and corruption.
