The Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) issued a decision regulating the import of seeds for cultivation, excluding potato buds.
The import of seeds for planting beets, grains, and vegetables (excluding potato) requires a prior permit from the Directorate of Agricultural Resources of the MoA.
The new regulations stipulate that each shipment of imported seeds should be associated with documents certifying the safety of the products, and ensuring that the seeds are not genetically modified.
According to the regulations, each package of imported seeds must convey a label, written in English or French, specifying the kind of product, country of origin, producing company, and the date of production. It should also include the name and address of the importer.
