IMF chief voices support to Lebanon
Safadi in Washington; holds talks with IMF, World Bank officials

The managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Christine Lagarde, voiced the IMF’s readiness to support Lebanon in the fields within its authority.
Following a meeting with the Minister of Finance, Mohamad Safadi, the IMF chief lauded the country’s “good reputation”, mainly its “loyalty to its international commitments”.
Safadi also met with the International Finance Corporation (IFC)’s Vice President for Eastern and Southern Europe, Central Asia and MENA, Demitris Tsitsiragos.
The Finance Minister also met with the World Bank’s managing Director, Sri Mulyani Indrawati.
