The number of inbound passengers using the Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport surged by 51 percent to 3.1 million in 2022 compared with the previous year.

The number of passengers, both arrivals and departures, jumped by 47 percent to 6.3 million. Despite the rebound, the number of passengers is still less than that the record 8.7 million reached in 2019. The highest passenger traffic in 2022 was recorded in summer with 2.3 million arrivals and departures. The Christmas and New Year holiday seasons in December also witnessed high traffic of more than 552,000 passengers.
