Kamal Sinno, who 59 years ago founded Toy Market Trading (TMT), has passed away. He was 85 years old.

He started his business by distributing toys through vans as he was facing tough competition from existing toy traders in the neighborhood. TMT later grew rapidly to become a large regional group. He was also General Manager of Kay Holding. His son Wael, who is CEO of the group, entered the franchising business in 2009 by partnering with JouéClub and creating JouéClub Liban.

Kamal Sinno has founded the Lebanese Food Bank (LFB) which aims to fight hunger and limit food waste. Since 2011, LFB, headquartered at TMT, has been sending refrigerated vans at midnight to various venues to gather and package food surplus after being tested by LFB experts for freshness because the “the poor also have the right to good food,” as Sinno used to say. The food is distributed to about 80 NGOs – feeding 3,000 people every day.
Sinno travelled to the UK when he was a young man where he studied at the University of London earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management.

TMT is a member of LeadersClub by Lebanon Opportunities.
