Credit Card Management (CCM) and Global Blue firm for Value Added Tax refunds announced that they began a new cooperation to issue Tax Free Cheques.
The agreement aims to facilitate the procedure of tax refunds through issuing Tax Free Cheques at CCM merchants’ Points of Sale (POS).
Foreign card holders could now obtain Tax Free Cheques for their purchases after paying, via credit card or cash, through an automatic rather than manual process. According to Global Blue, the automatic process saves time as customers would not have to wait for the vendor to fill the application manually.
The cheques are issued through software installed by CCM at the POS terminal. These machines will detect the eligibility for a VAT refund and will issue Tax Free Cheques accordingly.
Customers should present their purchases, passports, original store receipts, and the Tax Free Cheques to the customs desk at the Beirut airport to obtain the export validation stamp.
