Minister of Industry encourages investments in Sudan’s industrial sector

The Ministry of Industry signed a cooperation protocol with Sudan (on November 28).
The cooperation memorandum aims to boost bilateral ties between the two countries in different aspects, particularly the industrial sector.
The protocol urges the two countries to exchange data pertaining to the administrative, legislative, and technical procedures of the industrial sectors in each country.
It also calls for a mutual effort to encourage the private sector to establish joint industrial initiatives.
According to the protocol, the two countries would promote technical and scientific cooperation at the level of industry standards and quality control, as well as in exchanging conformity certificates.
Through the protocol, stakeholders of the industrial sector in both countries will organize periodic seminars and conferences.
The Minister of Industry Vrej Sabounjian urged investors and industrialists to expand their business into Sudan. He said that the authorities in Sudan have taken steps to facilitate doing business in order to encourage businessmen to invest in its various productive sectors.
