The Ministry of Tourism issued a circular, on the first of December, urging restaurants, hotels, and tourist residences to renew their classification within a one week deadline (ending December 8).

The ministry had assigned Bureau Veritas Liban to perform the classification of tourism establishments through decision number 239 issued in July, 2010. The ministry later modified the classification criteria in January 2011.

All tourism establishments are requested to be classified by Bureau Veritas under the new classification criteria. These establishments should complete the request for inspection related to their organization and submit it to Bureau Veritas.

Bureau Veritas’ intervention for classification will be scheduled after receiving the required document from the establishment.
