Aiding South community
France provides $500,000 in support of initiatives of five NGOs in South

The Minister of Social Affairs, Wael Abu Faour, and the French Ambassador, Denis Pietton signed a memorandum of understanding for a project to support the local communities in South Lebanon.
France pledged an amount of €400,000 ($500,000 ) in aid to back the efforts of five Lebanese civil society organizations during 2012 and 2013.
The project, titled ‘Support to the People of Southern Lebanon’, will support the initiatives of the selected NGOs targeting the most vulnerable social groups in South Lebanon, such as women, children, and the disabled.
The five organizations selected were the Lebanese Association for the Promotion of Literacy, Amel international association, the Association for the Protection of Children from War, Fair Trade Lebanon, and the School for Children with Special Needs.
