Abu Dhabi-based hotel operator Cristal Hotels and Resorts announced that it is opening a branch in Beirut. Operations at Cristal Lebanon Hotels and Resorts Management Office are set to start in February.
Cristal Group signed, earlier in January, management contracts with businessmen Elias Badr and Edmond Marjaba.
Cristal Hotels’ Lebanon branch is part of an expansion plan in the Levant region that will see it establish up to ten new properties within the next five to ten years. The Beirut office will be led by Peter Blackburn, Cristal Hotel’s CEO, and will be responsible for the development and operations of new hotels in Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria.
According to Blackburn the group is seeking to start new projects in Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan as the climate for interest in the hotel business looks encouraging.
“The overall strategy of offering high-quality accommodation and services at a reasonable price is one that fits well at any time, especially now that everyone is looking for extra value," he said.
Cristal Hotels signed last May a Memorandum of Understanding with furnished apartments’ owner Bliss 3000 to operate the latter’s property in Beirut under the name Cristal Bliss Residences.
Cristal Group is currently operating two hotels in Abu Dhabi, Cristal Hotel Abu Dhabi and Cristal Salam Hotel.
