The Ministry of Energy and Water (MoEW) announced that the tenders for the major plan to produce another 700 Megawatts of electricity will be launched in May.
The ministry said that tenders for building power plants in Zouk and in Jiyeh will be launched on May 14. It said that the tender for the construction of the power plant in Deir Amar will be opened on May 28.
According to the MoEW’s statement, all companies interested in applying for the bids can claim the books of conditions at the MoEW’s General Directorate for Investment starting March 12.
Global consultant firms AF Colenco (Swiss) and MVV Decon (German) concluded last June studies for launching the tenders.
Last September, the Cabinet approved a $1.2 billion bill to boost power production by an additional 700 MW, among other projects.
