The Ministry of Environment signed an agreement with Italy in order to address climate change and promote renewable energy.

The agreement, ratified on March 5, aims to establish cooperation between the two parties towards the implementation of an initiative boosting renewable energy.

The budget allocated for the project is $1.3 million. The project is funded and implemented through the Italian embassy.

The initiative will see the installation of 900 solar heating panels in public buildings, including public hospitals, orphanages, and Red Cross buildings. This is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 1.5 tons per year.
