A business association under the name ‘Lebanese Libyan Businessmen's Cooperation’ was founded on March 6. The objective of the association is to boost economic ties between the two countries.

The association aims to promote bilateral trade through organizing exhibitions in the two countries. The association will encourage investments in both countries, as well as joint investments.

The association will publish a Lebanese-Libyan trade guide covering all industrial and trade sectors in both countries.
The association was founded by Ahmad Salim, Khalil Abu Shawareb, Mahmoud Matar, Mohamad Matar, and Adib El Basatneh.

Libya has recently lifted a decade-old trade embargo on Lebanon.

This is the second Lebanese-Libyan association to be formed within three months. In December, the ‘Lebanese-Libyan Friendship and Business Council’ was founded with the objective of promoting cooperation between the countries.
