Lebanese restaurant Socrate recently opened a new kitchen and warehouse in Jnah. The new location is over 4,000 square meters in area . The investment is estimated at around $5 million.
“Increased demands on food and catering was the reason behind opening our new kitchen,” said Jihad Zaidan, operations manager at Socrate.
Socrate’s main branch on Bliss Street in Hamra, where their kitchen was previously located, is now a restaurant only. Socrate has another outlet in Raouche. The restaurant also caters to schools, universities, and banks.
According to Zaidan, the new kitchen currently caters for 2,000 people, but it has the capacity to cater for up to 4,000 people. Socrate now has a staff of around 150 employees.
Founded in 1965, Socrate is a family business managed by Saad Zeidan.
The management also plans to open a new branch next year somewhere between Downtown Beirut and Ashrafieh.
