Payments' balance deficit totals $998 million at end-May

The balance of payments recorded a cumulative deficit of $998 million in the first five months of 2012, compared to a wider deficit of $1 billion in the same period of last year. Financial inflows grew to $6.3 billion at end-May, up by 29 percent year-on-year. These inflows were insufficient to counterbalance the trade deficit.
