Tobacco authority transfers part of its 2012 profit to MoF

The tobacco authority, Régie, said that it has transferred to the Ministry of Finance $27 million, part of its proceeds for the year 2012.

The state-run authority is the exclusive supplier of tobacco products. It imports packaged cigarettes and exports locally produced tobacco, which it buys at a subsidized rate.
