Local fast-food brand Lord of the Wings is franchising into Kuwait and Egypt. The first franchise outlet will open in Kuwait city this December, followed by another in Cairo during the first quarter of 2013.
Lord of the Wings is working on several other openings in the region. Marc Moudabber, Lord of the Wings founder, said the plan is to spread out the diner's concept throughout the region: "Franchising is the natural strategic step to grow and reflect an appealing and profitable model." Lord of the Wings plans to have four branches in Kuwait and five branches in Egypt within the next five years. "Other franchises in the region are currently being studied," said Moudabber.
Lord of the Wings is a brand of Concepts-M Inc., a hospitality firm founded and managed by Moudabber and his brother Joseph. Concepts-M Inc. is the master franchisor of Lord of the Wings in the region. "Although running your own place is more profitable, franchises are faster-growing as the franchisee is often more adapted to the society and habits of the destination market," said Moudabber.
Locally, Lord of the Wings will soon be opening in Kaslik. The new outlet will replace the renowned pub 'Le Castel' stretching over 160 square meters.
Lord of the Wings has four outlets in Gemmayze, CityMall, Mtayleb, and Hamra. Moudabber said the Kaslik branch is the brand's third local franchise after Hamra and Mtayleb. The franchisee of the Kaslik outlet is Le Castel , owned by Ray Bassil. The Hamra franchisee is Hamra F&B, owned by Bassem Jarrar. The Mtayleb franchisee is owned by Jean Salloum.
