A new shopping center is being developed in Jnah, facing BHV. The center will be open for visitors in early 2013. “The purpose behind building the center is to offer retail outlets for traders at affordable prices,” said Iman Al-Assal, project manager at Awdi Sonic, the project’s developer. The three-storied center will offer some 2,700 square meters of retail space.

“Prices are expensive in the area, and the center will be offering lower leases because the company owns the land,” said Al-Assal. The rent for a nine-square-meter shop is around $700 per month. This cost includes amenities like water and electricity, in addition to security services.

Outlets of different sizes are available, and will host various retail brands from clothing and shoes, as well as restaurants. “There has been a big demand from traders so far, but no contracts have been signed yet,” Al-Assal said.

Awdi Sonic is a member of Awdi Group Holding, a general trading company owned by Lebanese businessman Hassan Awdi. The company also has other projects in its pipeline, including a spa in Jnah and an agro-industrial development in the Bekaa.
