Bach Design now in Khaldeh

$2-million investment in furniture store

Local furniture retailer Bach Design will be opening its third branch in early 2013. The new store, located in Khaldeh, will cover an area of 1,000 square meters, spread over three floors.

The store already owns outlets in the Ras El Nabeh and UNESCO areas.

Mohamad Bach, store owner, said that around $2 million were invested in the new branch. “Despite the economic slowdown, furniture is still on demand, but definitely at a slower pace,” he said.

The stagnant market is not a great motivator for new store openings. Bach said that being owners of the store, with no rent to pay, makes their business more profitable. “We will expand our business further if the situation improves,” he said.
