Lebanon’s economy will overcome the current challenges thanks to its skilled workforce and the determination of its private sector, businesses leaders declared on Monday. During its first meeting in 2013, chaired by former Minister Adnan Kassar, the association of economic bodies assigned a committee to prepare an action plan for the year.
The committee comprises Mohammad Choucair, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon, Joseph Torbey, chairman of the Association of Banks (ABL), Nicolas Chammas, chairman of the Beirut Traders Association, and Wajih Bizri, representative of the Association of Industrialists (ALI).
The association of economic bodies called on all political factions to separate economy from politics. It also called on politicians to return to dialogue as the only resort to alleviate tensions.
