Fahed Super Value Mall, a new concept by the original Fahed Jounieh supermarket, combining a hypermarket and mall space, will open along the Zalka highway by March 2013.
The venue will have a total space of 10,000 square meters, parted into five floors. Two of them will be dedicated to a Fahed hypermarket, while the other three will host open retail spaces. The building also has a 9,000-square-meter underground parking space with a capacity of up to 250 cars.
Fahed Super Value Mall will also include a 1,200-square-meter restaurant with a separate entrance and facilities. A source at the new development said that all the retail space is leasable, including the hallways, which will host booth-style shops. The process of choosing the tenants' mix is currently underway, and most retailers will be in the line of household products and equipment. The hypermarket will also include a section for upper-scale products.
The project was launched in early 2010, with an investment of around $25 million funded through equities and a bank loan. The source said the developers are relying on their market reputation and heritage, along with the quality and price of the products they offer, to guarantee the success of the new venture: “We have been in the market for over 70 years, which grants us the necessary knowhow and experience.”
In addition, Fahed is preparing to launch another branch along the Jounieh highway, near the Al Inaya Bakery. The new branch, scheduled for 2015, will have an area of 7,000 square meters.
Fahed Supermarket is owned by Fahed Holding, chaired by Nabil Fahed. The holding includes the retail business and is also a major shareholder in import and export firm Karim Trading, and in real estate firm Fahed International Development Company.
