The Cabinet has agreed to amend the pricing structure of fuel oil. For each tank (20 liters) of fuel oil, fuel transporters will receive an additional commission of $0.05 while gas stations will receive an additional $0.2.
Sami Brax, Head of the Syndicate of Gas Station Owners, said: “We will now receive $1.2 per tank of fuel oil sold.” The Syndicate had called for increasing the commissions to $1.3 per tank, in light of the increase in global fuel prices.
The commission of fuel transporters reached $0.23 per tank. In 2012, the Cabinet had raised their commission by an additional $0.05 per tank, bringing it to $0.18. The Association of Petroleum Importer Companies did not receive any raise.
