The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has announced new e-payment procedures to facilitate tax payments – excluding customs and property taxes.
The MoF already has a deal with some local banks to collect taxes. Instead of visiting these banks’ branches, customers will be able to pay their taxes via the MoF website using their bank’s online banking system.
A special account will be created in each bank to receive the e-payments. The payments will then be transferred to the Central Bank’s treasury. Customers will receive an email notifying them of the status of their e-payments.
