Local manufacturer of bakery equipment Sabitech has opened a new facility in the industrial zone in Ghazir. The company was previously renting a facility in Fanar.

Dory Frem, Production Manager at Sabitech, said: “The new facility will give us the opportunity to increase the production and thus increase the size of our exports.”

Sabitech manufactures bread production lines, mainly those used for making Arabic Pita bread, as well as a variety of other bread products.

The new premises comprise three floors over a total area of 14,000 square meters. The cost of investment in the facility reached $2 million. The industrial equipment was brought in from the old facility. The company employs 50 persons.

The company produces around 25 bread production lines each year. The average selling price of each line is around $100,000.

Sabitech mainly targets international markets. Frem said: “We rely heavily on the international market, because the local market is limited.” Some 90 percent of its products are exported to Arab markets, namely the GCC and Egypt, as well as other countries all over the world. “Our product is exported to countries where the Lebanese diaspora is present,” said Frem.
