Local F&B firm Komida Group will be expanding its business into Canada by early 2014. The company owns two eateries: 'Crave' and 'Wrapsody'. “Our concepts are already inspired by Canadian west coast food styles, that’s why expanding there was a logical step to us,” said Michel Choucair, Founder and Managing Director of Komida Group.
Crave and Wrapsody will branch out through a joint venture in Ontario. Two Wrapsody franchises will be opening in British Columbia. The overall investment is estimated at $2.5 million.
Choucair said they have chosen these two provinces because they make great business centers as they are highly populated. Montreal and Quebec are potential markets too, he said.
Choucair said the company is also eyeing franchises in the GCC, mainly in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, as well as in Erbil, Iraq.
Locally, Komida Group is seeking to franchise its diners in different regions across the country. Crave already has branches in Le Mall Dbayeh and Monot. Wrapsody is present through two branches in Kaslik and in Le Mall Dbayeh.
