Beirut-based film distribution company Prime Pictures will open a movie theater on Hamra’s Bliss Street. The theater, ‘Prime on Bliss’, will open its doors as of this June, said Rashid Soufi, Marketing Manager at Prime Pictures. Prime Pictures already has a local operation at CinemaCity through a partnership with Empire theaters. It also manages several movie chains in the Middle East

The new theaters will be located in the ‘1886 Khayat Building’, next to Zaatar w Zeit.

Prime on Bliss is a multiplex cinema with two screens, and a joint capacity of 326 seats. “The theaters are designed as a casual neighborhood movie theater that suits its young entourage,” Soufi said.

The theaters will show pictures from major studios. “Independent and smaller productions will not be shown because the theater is very limited in terms of operating screens,” said Soufi.

‘Prime on Bliss’ will be open for early shows, starting 10:00 a.m., until the night show at 10:00 p.m. The theater will also host a small sushi area.

Prime Pictures was co-founded in 1995 by Hammad Atassi, a Syrian-Lebanese American businessman, and Talaat Captan, an American businessman who is also President and Founder of Air Hollywood, a mockup airline studio.
