Energy and water conservation methods will now be incorporated in the national academic program, according to a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Ministry of Energy and Water (MoEW) and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE).
Through the program, solar powered heaters will be distributed to public schools participating in the awareness program.
The agreement aims to promote energy and water conservation awareness in schools by introducing conservation methods to teachers, and facilitating their cooperation with civil society and conservation experts.
Workshops and lectures will be funded by the Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation (LCEC), affiliated with the MoEW. The incorporation of water and energy conservation methods in academic programs will be managed and funded by the MoEHE.
