China donates supplies
$8 million worth of government supplies
Share
The Cabinet has recently ratified an economic and technical cooperation agreement signed with China. Through the agreement, China will grant the government $8 million worth of supplies.
The donation will be delivered through the Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR). “The usage of this grant has not been specified yet,” according to Wafa Charafeddine, Manager of Finance Department at the CDR. China will provide high-tech equipment and technical assistance to the CDR. "The grant will be allocated later according to the needs of the government," said Charafeddine.
China often makes such donations, where the supplies are stipulated to be China-made products. It had previously donated security scanners to the Ministry of Finance and equipment to governmental hospitals. It also provided the Ministry of Agriculture with specialized vehicles.
