The Lebanese-Italian Business Council was launched jointly by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon (CCIAB) and the Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture in Milano.

Mohamad Choucair, President of the CCIAB, said: “The council comprises big institutions that will be cooperating to enhance economic relations in the Mediterranean.” He said Lebanese businessmen have good relations with the Gulf countries, as well as with Syria and Iraq, and thus will contribute to enriching business ties in the Mediterranean.

The CCIAB proposed holding an Italian Day in Lebanon in 2014, followed by a Lebanese Day in Italy in 2015, in addition to hosting joint exhibitions in the Gulf countries.
