The Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) signed a cooperation agreement with four local universities: The Lebanese University, the American University of Beirut (AUB), the Université Saint Joseph (USJ), and the Université Saint Esprit - Kaslik (USEK).

The agreement aims to enhance cooperation between the MoA and the faculties of agriculture in these universities. It will also activate fieldwork and train students in the departments of agricultural engineering and veterinary medicine.

Under the terms of the agreement, the MoA will assign student trainees to different ministerial departments according to their specializations. This will give them an opportunity to experience institutional work and get acquainted with the laws that govern the agricultural production process. It will also give them the ability to communicate directly with farmers and producers.

On the other hand, the four universities will train MoA employees and will share their research results with the MoA’s engineers and specialists to help them update their data.

The MoA said that it will sign another agreement for scientific research with the National Council for Scientific Research. Another electronic library project will be launched later to connect the MoA with partner universities.
