Revamping Le Vendôme
Additional rooms and suites, swimming pool, spas

Le Vendôme InterContinental hotel has started revamping its rooms and suites, restaurants, and banqueting services. By the winter of 2014, the transformation will offer the hotel’s clients a new experience, said Frederic Brohez, General Manager.
“This is the best time to invest in our property,” said Brohez. According to him, investors in the hotel industry know the market has always been affected by regional events and the current instability won’t last. “We have to benefit from the current situation, in order to prepare for a fast rebound and build up our quick comeback capacity.”
31 rooms will be added to the building, including 20 suites. “We have already completed the whole renovation of our first floor.” The hotel will also incorporate spa and wellness rooms, a rooftop swimming pool, and a new international restaurant group named ‘La Petite Maison’. The famous Sydney's Club Bar & Restaurant, reopened last week, will also adopt a fresh new concept.
Investment in the project reached $31.8 million according to the Investment Development Authority (IDAL). Around 70 new jobs will be created.
Vendôme currently has 73 rooms and suites, several gourmet restaurants, and a 24-hour bar.
Le Vendôme was founded in 1964 by La Société Hôtelière Fakhoury, then acquired by La Société Des Grands Hôtels Du Liban in 1974. Main shareholders are the Salha family members. It had to cease operations in 1983 due to the civil war. InterContinental Hotels and Resorts took over management in 1995 and invested several million dollars in the property’s renovation and restoration, reopening the hotel in November 1996.
