Centrepoint in Sidon
Landmark Group plans more outlets
Share
Centrepoint, the Indian-based retailer, recently opened its first local standalone outlet in Sidon’s Darazi Center.
The brand was already available in the market through branches in Beirut City Centre and City Mall. It also had small independent stores for its sub-brands: Splash, Baby Shop, and Lifestyle, among others.
“We found a great market for our products in Sidon, and the Darazi Center responded well to our expansion strategy. It was a great catch,” said a senior executive in Landmark Group, the company that owns Centrepoint.
According to this source, the center underwent a complete revamping to adapt to Centrepoint’s shopping concept. The new outlet stretches over 4,000 square meters, on three floors. It also has adequate parking space for visitors.
The source said they will be waiting for the right opportunity to expand further: “We plan to open more outlets as standalones or in-mall branches, but they are not scheduled for 2014.”
The Landmark Group is present in 20 countries, mostly in the GCC, Middle East, and Africa. The group was founded in 1973 in India.
