Lebanon's Salameh says he expects 2013 GDP growth at 2%-2.5%

Lebanon’s economy may grow faster than economists expect this year, the country’s central bank governor said today.

Growth will probably reach 2 percent to 2.5 percent, Governor Riad Salameh told reporters before a meeting of Arab central bankers in Abu Dhabi today. The median of nine economists’ forecasts were for growth of 2 percent in 2013, accelerating to 3.3 percent next year, according to a Sept. 19 Bloomberg survey.
