MOU between the Ministry of Tourism and the AUB

Implementing green touristic strategy and projects

The Ministry of Tourism and the AUB’s Environmental Engineering Research Center have signed a memorandum of understanding to implement cooperation between the two parties.

This cooperation aims to implement the green tourism strategy adopted by the Ministry. It will develop internal and sustainable tourism throughout the year, providing job vacancies to rural area residents. The project will lead municipal training in this direction, to implement and improve any touristic product or service.

This step comes in line with the ministry’s long-term program to cooperate with the high academic institutions to develop the tourism sector.

The AUB’s EERC already has eco-development projects with 50 local municipalities. The center is working to produce environmental maps, supported by Coca Cola’s CSR program.
