Lebanon and Kurdistan to strengthen economic ties

A joint economic committee was constituted between Lebanon and the province of Kurdistan, Iraq, in order to strengthen mutual relations. The memorandum of understanding was announced during a visit by Minister of Economy and Trade Nicolas Nahhas to Erbil.
The joint committee will discuss several common subjects, including entry visas for Lebanese citizens, development of mutual tourism, free flow of Lebanese agricultural and industrial goods to Kurdistan, acceptance of Lebanese standards and certifications issued by the Lebanese Institute of Industrial Research, and accreditation of insurance companies.
