Mount Lebanon Hospital aims to expand its premises in Hazmieh by establishing a new building beside the existing one. Construction works have been launched and will be finalized and inaugurated in late 2015.
“The purpose behind expanding the hospital is to meet the increasing demand on medical services in the Hazmieh region,” said Rola Zahar, Deputy General Director of Mount Lebanon Hospital. She said that after 15 years of operating, it was necessary to expand, especially the high quality of their services.
The new building will stretch over an area of 24,000 square meters, including 200 rooms.
The cost of investment is expected to reach $50 million, including construction and equipment. The hospital staff will reach 800 and an additional 100 doctors will be added to the roster.
“We will supply the hospital with advanced machines and equipment that are still not available in the local market, such as CyberKnife machines for radio surgery,” said Zahar. The hospital will be developing its oncology services and importing its equipment mainly from Germany and the United States.
