Beirut's derelict buildings pose problems

Nadia Issa and her husband Joseph worry that the decades-old building in which they reside in Ashrafieh, Beirut, will collapse at any time.

Over the course of 50 years, which have seen the births and marriages of their four children, cracks have crept across the walls of their al-Geitawi area apartment and of the other six units in the three-story building.
