A new touristic and business development in Erbil, Iraq, has been launched by Malia Group, under the brand Arjaan Rotana. The project, which includes furnished and serviced apartments, is expected to open by the beginning of 2016.

The property is owned by Towerline Touristic, a company in which Malia Group has a 60 percent share. Towerline Touristic signed an agreement with Rotana management chain to manage the hotel. The main consultants and designers are Spectrum Engineering Consultants, and the interior designers are GM Architects.

The project consists of a mixed-use serviced complex built in the center of Erbil. Developed over a land plot of 2,300 m2, the hotel has a total build-up area of 23,000 m2. The investment is worth $52 million.

The 20-storey tower is set to include nine floors dedicated to furnished studios and suites. Six floors are dedicated to offices, including three with furnished and serviced offices with meeting rooms.

The remaining floors include parking facilities, Food & Beverage outlets, a business center, and meeting rooms.

Three years ago, Malia Group inaugurated the 201-room five-star Erbil Rotana hotel, which cost about $55 million. The hotel is owned by Hotelline, a partnership between Malia Group and Italian company, DIVA SRL, and a management agreement with Rotana. The property stretches over 35,000 square meters.
