The Council of Ministers approved a Saudi grant to support the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF). The grant, which totals $3 billion, will be used to help arm the LAF and provide technical support.
Saudi Arabia has pledged to buy arms for the LAF from France. President Michel Sleiman described the grant as the biggest grant ever for the military in the country’s history. Negotiations are currently underway to decide on the procurement of supplies.
