Potable water network slated for Zahle
$21 million loan from Kuwaiti fund

A loan agreement was signed on June 27 with the Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development to finance the construction of potable water networks in Zahle and the surroundings. The loan totals $21 million.
The project includes the construction of water reservoirs and installation of pipes and distribution networks. The overall value of this project is $30 million. Work is expected to commence during the coming fall.
The Government of Kuwait has already granted Lebanon $37 million to restore water systems in west Bekaa and east Zahleh.
