The Embassy of the UAE and Bank Med has signed a memorandum of understanding with Emkan Finance, a micro-credit association owned by Bank Med. The agreed initiative adheres closely with the humanitarian program of the Foundation of Khalifa Ben Zayed Al Nahyan.
The aim of the agreement is supporting local small and medium size projects and providing them with essential financial aid. The amount of the micro-credits range between $333 (LL500,000) and $10,000 for three years.
Emkan has provided 45,000 loans with a value of $90 million since 2009.
