The total number of registered new cars in the first half of the year reached 19,555 cars. It remained stagnant compared to the same period of 2013, according to the Association of Automobile Importers in Lebanon (AIA).
The number of cars registered dropped by eight percent compared to 2012 and 13 percent compared to 2011.
About 90 percent of the registered cars are small, with selling prices below $11,000. The luxury cars with selling prices above $100,000 represent only 3.5 percent of the total.
