Colonel Beer, an artisanal brew, was introduced to the market last summer from a Batroun restaurant by the same name.

Jamil Haddad, Founder and General Manager of the microbrewery, said: “We offer fresh and high quality beer. People can watch the brewing process.” The beer does not include any preservatives and it is not pasteurized.

Colonel brews 1,000 liters (3,000 bottles) per day, manually. “The demand for the new brand is excellent,” said Haddad.

The $2 million, eco-friendly microbrewery occupies a 400 square meter space and employs 15.

The retail price of 1/3 liter bottle is LL2,000 ($1.3). “It is higher than other beers because it’s fresh,” said Haddad. The beer is distributed to restaurants chosen by Haddad.

Haddad earned the technical knowhow of brewing from London, where he previously worked in the beer industry and conducted training sessions in British breweries.
