Tony Ramy becomes chairman for the Syndicate of Restaurants

A new executive committee was formed to manage the Syndicate of Owners of Restaurants, Cafés, Nightclubs and Pastry Shops. Tony Ramy, previously General Secretary, was appointed as President, replacing Paul Ariss.

The new committee included: Khaled Nazha, Vice President, Ziad Kamel, Secretary, Aref Saadeh, Treasurer, Mireille Hayek and Mostafa El Samad, public relations, Maya Bekhazi, external relations, Tony Habre, responsible for nightclubs, Donald Batal, responsible for cafés, diners and fast casual eateries, Walid Hayek, responsible for bars, Adham Beainy, marketing, and Walid Baroudi, legal.

The Syndicate was founded in 1945 and formally established in 1946 to act as an official body to protect the interests of owners/investors, promoting the industry and participating in the formulation of new tourism laws. Since 1946, 26 boards have been elected, each composed of twelve members.
