Elysée Water, Irrigation, Sewage and Energy Company (Elysée WISE), a factory that manufactures polyethylene pipes for irrigation, will open in Gherfin, Jbeil, in early 2015.
The company is equally owned by ROBINSON AGRI, the local company that designs, manufactures and installs greenhouses and by the Cyprus-based Elysée Irrigation.
Roula Khoury, Chair of Elysée WISE, said: “ROBINSON AGRI used to import the products required for its business from Cyprus. We decided to establish our own factory here, so we can reduce operational costs,” such as transportation and other importation expenses.
The total investment in the project is $1.5 million, which is 6,000 square meters and has a total built-up area of 1,000 m2. The factory will create 20 jobs.
The factory will produce 3,000 tons of pipes, annually, partly intended for export to the MENA region.
