Plastic bags factory opens in Choueifat

Targets local and African markets

Chaalan Plast, a manufacturer of plastic bags, opened in the industrial zone of Choueifat, late last year.

The factory will produce 150 tons of plastic backs, per month for local and international markets. “Chaalan Plast will supply TSC supermarkets and export 70 percent of its production to African markets,” said Ali Chaalan, General Manager.

The $2.5 million investment included the cost of the land, construction and equipment. The total built-up area is 2,000 square meters. It created more than 30 full-time jobs.

Chaalan Plast is in the process of obtaining the ISO 9001 certificate.
