Sami Kotob Trading, an electronic appliance retailer is planning the opening of Kotob City in Saida in coming May.

Kotob City, a household and electronics shopping center, will be located on a plot of 2,200 square meters, consisting of a nine-floor building, totaling 10,000 m2 of built-up area, with a 6,000 m2 gross leasable area.

The building has three underground floors comprising a warehouse, a parking lot for 40 cars, and a display floor for ‘white appliances’, like washing machines and refrigerators.

The building has a ground floor displaying IT and mobile electronics, the first floor displays personal care and office equipment products, the second floor provides kitchen appliances and glassware, the third floor is dedicated to office furniture, linen, and mattresses. The fourth floor offers sports equipment, lighting and home furniture, whereas the fifth floors will host company offices.

“We aim to have everything related to the home under one roof, a one-stop-shop,” said Sami Kotob, Managing Director.

Investment in Kotob City is around $5 million. “We have the biggest market share in the South,” Kotob said. He said that they are studying an expansion plan for the next five years, which will be focused on other outlets in the South.

Besides distributing international brands, the company has created its own brand, Samko, over ten years ago. It offers a wide range of electronic products and home appliances.
