The Prestige Bekaa Company, a local manufacturer of nylon and aluminum products for packaging, will expand its factory in Hawsh El Omara, Zahle. The land was purchased and construction works will start within a few months. The factory is expected to start operating in early 2016.
Nicolas Karouni, General Manager, said: “The world is currently heading towards nylon packaging—even water will be packaged in nylon in the future—so it was feasible to expand our factory to meet these packaging needs.”
The $4 million factory will extend to 3,000 square meters, from its current 1,000 m2. Its production capacity will reach 600 tons of nylon and aluminum, annually. This represents a 200 percent increase that will allow the company to distribute to all local regions. The company obtained the factory’s new equipment from Germany and Italy.
The Prestige Bekaa Company produces various kinds of nylon packaging for coffee, nuts, dairy products, cakes and other goods. It also provides protected tape for aluminum companies such as Aluxel and Alutex.
