The steepest drop was in prices of clothing and footwear which fell 14 percent. Prices of water, electricity, and gas fell 3.5 percent while prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages dropped 0.2 percent, CAS said.
Prices of housing increased 11 percent while prices of recreation, amusement, and culture services remained unchanged.
CAS said that the CPI rose three percent between January 2008 and January 2009.
